Flippin boys, Salem girls win Twin Lakes Invitational
Several high school golfers gathered at Twin Lakes Golf Course on Friday for the Twin Lake Invitational. Flippin won the boys’ side with a total of 241, beating out Norfork by four strokes. Salem finished third at 263, Bergman was fourth at 276, Cotter ended up fifth at 287, and Valley Springs took sixth place at 319.

As any self-respecting fan of the sport knows, the Wathena, Kan., local and his wife, Lindsey, field not one but two offshore racing teams. Miller’s Super Cat-class M CON/Monster Energy team is a world and national champion. His Monster Energy/M CON team is well on its way to claiming a Class 1 world title this season.
Winter youth volleyball registration open at Arkadelphia Parks and Rec
Registration is open for Arkadelphia Parks and Recreation’s winter youth volleyball season. Girls grades 1-2 are encouraged to sign up for Parks and Recreation’s “Lil Spikes” league. This 4-week instructional league starts the week of October 5 and ends the week of November 9. Participants will learn the basics of the sport, including: How to bump, volley, and serve.
