An Osceola County deputy sheriff was arrested Tuesday, accused of domestic battery and myriad other charges — though virtually no official details about what led to it have been released.

In addition to domestic battery, Deputy Douglas Ford faces charges of aggravated stalking and 10 counts of accessing a computer system without authority, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to the Orlando Sentinel.

Though the agency didn’t name him in a statement issued to the Sentinel, the 36-year-old Ford’s name and matching charges appeared in county jail records.

“It is always a very unfortunate situation to have to arrest a law enforcement officer. At the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, we hold our deputies to the highest ethical standards, and we will not tolerate anyone breaking the law within our ranks,” an unnamed Sheriff’s Office spokesperson’s statement read.

Court records detailing the accusations against him were not available as of Tuesday afternoon and the Sheriff’s Office offered no other information about what took place. A records request submitted by the Sentinel has not been fulfilled.

Before his arrest, Ford served in the Sheriff’s Office’s veterans outreach division.
