Middle school principal from Iowa dies after being rescued from Lake Michigan
According to KCCI Des Moines, the individual who was recovered from Lake Michigan on Tuesday and later passed away was a middle school principal hailing from Iowa. According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Mark Scholes, a 44-year-old from Oskaloosa, was on a vacation with his family at Ludington State Park when he started having trouble swimming around 1:49 p.m. A bystander called 911 for help.
