Popular Oswego bar, The Sting put up for sale

OSWEGO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A Port City icon has a “for sale” sign on the side of the building.

For almost 40 years, the business has been in the family. One of the owners, Eric Dawson, took to Facebook to make the sale official.

“This business has payed for college, vehicles, several vacations and homes over the years. The Sting would like to thank all the customers now and over the years, it certainly wouldn’t have stayed in business this long with out all your loyalty,” wrote Dawson.

Dawson explained that it’s been hard to give full dedication to run the business, especially with children and careers.

However, the light at the end of the tunnel is that they plan to stay open and move forward with finishing the kitchen, as well as other plans they had.

“If you got the time and the money this place will give you plenty back. We are in business and intend to stay in business but may alter hours and have food,” Dawson continued.

The Sting has had multiple shootings outside or near the bar, including one in May and another in June of this year.
