Overdose awareness event planned
PORT CLINTON — There will be an Overdose Awareness Day event from 4-6 p.m. on Aug. 31 in The District of downtown Port Clinton. It's being put on by the Ottawa County Prevention Coalition. It's a community coalition "utilizing multi-agency collaboration to remove barriers, provide education, raise awareness and encourage healthy lifestyles in our community," according to an agency statement.

Former kids football coach accused of stealing thousands from league pleads guilty
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A former Genoa youth football coach who police say stole thousands of dollars from the league for personal use took a plea deal. Court records show Phil Antry pleaded guilty to a Theft charge, amended from a Grand Theft charge, on July 1 in Ottawa County. He could face up to 12 months in prison and a $2,500 fine.
