HomeSnacks recently published a list of the most affordable places to live in each state. Federal Heights, a Denver suburb, ranked as the cheapest place to live in Colorado.

To create the rankings, HomeSnacks acquired cost of living statistics from the latest Census American Community Survey 2018-2022 for Colorado using Saturday Night Science. Researchers then indexed the cost of living statistics across housing, transportation, services, groceries, healthcare, and utilities. The categories were then weighted together to produce the overall cost of living index, with 100 as the U.S. average.

Federal Heights' overall cost of living index is 82. The suburb is located in Adams County and is home to over 14,000 people. According to HomeSnacks, Federal Heights' overall cost of living is 24.1% lower than the state average. The median income of the Denver suburb is $56,316. The median home price is $401,479, and the median rent is $1,516.

HomeSnacks also detailed some of the perks of living there, including competitive housing costs within the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood metro area, and is "located within striking distance of Denver."

The other places that made the list include Lamar, La Junta, Fort Morgan, and Sterling.
