High-A Aberdeen placed Willems (hamstring) on its 7-day injured list July 9. Willems was removed from a July 6 game against Greensboro with a left hamstring injury and was placed on the IL three days later. The 21-year-old backstop slashed .232/.316/.452 over 276 plate appearances with Aberdeen before being shut down with the injury.
