Sealed bids will be received in the Purchasing Office of the City of Ovilla, 105 Cockrell Hill, Ovilla, Texas 75154 until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 1, 2024, and then publicly opened and read for furnishing all plant, labor, material, machinery, equipment, and all necessary appurtenances and for performing all work required for the construction of the Project.
TX: Walmart Celebrates Grand Opening of High-Tech Perishable Distribution Center in Lancaster
Walmart associates, local elected officials and community members celebrated the grand opening of a new 730,000 square-foot perishable distribution center (PDC) in Lancaster. The new facility, located 15 miles south of Dallas, receives and processes fresh produce, eggs, dairy, flowers and frozen goods for delivery to nearby Walmart stores. The new PDC is Walmart’s second Lancaster-based facility, following the next generation fulfillment center that opened in 2023.
Beacon opens new locations in Georgia and Texas
Beacon announced that it has opened new locations in Athens, GA and in Midlothian, TX. Mosquito Spraying in Zones 3, 11 & 23 Friday, July 19 & Saturday, July 20
The city of Burleson was notified that mosquitoes in Zones 3, 11 and 23 tested positive for West Nile Virus. In response, the city will be conducting truck-based spraying. Weather permitting, spraying will occur sometime between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. on Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20.

Arlington has confirmed one positive West Nile Virus mosquito sample and will conduct targeted ground spraying at the following locations:. Additionally, the Town of Pantego has confirmed two positive West Nile Virus (WNV) mosquito samples in areas that border the City of Arlington. Even though the positive trap locations were in Pantego, the CDC-recommended targeted ground spraying distance from these trap locations will include portions of the City of Arlington.
