Woodland Hill Mall’s Summer Storytime sessions are quickly coming to a close. The series continues July 23 with a guest from the Oklahoma Aquarium. After the reading, the speaker will lead an arts and crafts activity that goes hand in hand with the book. Police investigating shooting during burglary in midtown Tulsa
Police say someone was attempting to break into a house near East 21st Street and South Sheridan Road around 2:00 a.m. when the homeowner shot the intruder. The intruder was taken to the hospital and their condition is unknown.
Tulsa Musician Johnny Polygon Performs Newest Single Ahead Of Album Release
Tulsa musician Johnny Polygon visited the Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch back in March and now two of his songs have over 2 million streams on Spotify. Johnny says his music is inspired by his road to sobriety and his next album called "The Program" will have twelve songs. Each song represents a step in his journey. Experts disagree on cause of Oklahoma’s rising rents
Housing shortages and rising rents go hand-in-hand with supply-demand economics. When supply is low and demand is high, one can reasonably assume costs will rise. Rising rents in Oklahoma have led to a surge in evictions. Oklahoma City is on track to top last year’s 17,868 eviction filings, and Tulsa is trending toward the same numbers as 2023.

Nationwide – Teenagers Autumn Kendall, 14, and Aurora Morgan, 15, are excited to announce the release of their children’s book, The Three Heroes, and their first book signing event in East Harlem, NY on June 4, 2024, at 6pm. The Three Heroes, developed under the 3E Program for Social Justice and Change, is a compelling tale featuring characters inspired by civil rights leaders Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and Chairman Fred Hampton. The story introduces a villain resembling J. Edgar Hoover, who led the FBI’s COINTELPRO operations aimed at undermining these activists. Though the characters are fictional, the book sheds light on historical events and the impact of COINTELPRO.
