The Owatonna American Legion Post 77 baseball team returned from a nine-day hiatus on Sunday and played against Stewartville on the road.

After falling behind, Owatonna had a great fourth inning and won against Stewartville 5-2.

Owatonna was held to no runs in the first three innings, as the first runs of the game came in the bottom of the third with Stewartville taking a 2-0 lead. Their lead did not last long though as Owatonna answered back with a four-run top of the fourth.

The inning consisted of five straight hits by Owatonna, starting with a single by Zachary Haarstad. Gavin Saxton then doubled to score Haarstad and Saxton scored himself off of a double by Mitch Seykora.

Being tied 2-2, Owatonna took their first lead of the game thanks to a two-run home run by Tayte Berg. Owatonna’s fifth-consecutive hit in the inning was a single by Connor Wiese.

Owatonna added one more run in the sixth inning and held on to win the game 5-2.

The game was Owatonna’s last road game of the regular season, as the last five games for them are all at home at Chuck Fuller Field. The five-game homestand starts Tuesday night against Winona at 7:00 p.m.
