Awesome Blossoms opens season with road loss against Goodhue

The Blooming Prairie volleyball team opened its 2024 campaign on the road and took on the Goodhue Wildcats on Thursday, Aug. 22.

The Awesome Blossoms consistently got better in every set in the match against the Wildcats, but ultimately lost to Goodhue, 3-0.

After losing the first set 25-13, the Blossoms lost the second set 25-15 and the Wildcats finished the match by winning the third set 25-19. The Blossoms started the match struggling offensively, but got better after each set.

The Blossoms’ next match is nearly two weeks after Thursday’s loss, as they are set to play Alden-Conger on Tuesday, Sept. 3 for their home opener.

{span}”We have a long list of things to work on; however, we have over a week before we play again,” Blooming Prairie head coach Gina Hendrickson said. “I was encouraged by the fight in our team. We are close to getting things right. We just weren’t able to do it tonight.”{/span}
