Owensboro Innovation Academy graduate’s full circle moment

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- Owensboro Public Schools and Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline have developed a community partnership to promote resources for engineering students. And now one of the program’s participants is working for Southern Star.

One of the program’s success stories, Katie Gray, was a 2021 graduate of the Owensboro Innovation Academy, was heavily involved in the OIA’s engineering and robotics program and became an intern while attending Murray State. She now works as an engineer with Southern Star. Gray says “I love having the mentality to just soak everything up like a sponge. There’s so many great learning opportunities here at Southern Star within the different groups- from business development to operations. Soaking up that knowledge and then taking it into my future career.”
