HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – More information about a shooting in Spencer County over the weekend has been released.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office states it was notified about the incident on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. from the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office that it was investigating a shooting that occurred the previous night on the north side of the Ohio River near the Glover Cary Bridge.

Officials state a victim had been shot and the suspect fled the scene and SCSO requested DCSO assistance in locating the suspect.

Officials say Daviess County authorities began searching several areas and eventually found the suspect in the 800 block of Danberry Street in Owensboro at about 12:30 p.m.

The suspect was reportedly taken into custody without incident and taken to the Daviess County Courthouse to be questioned by Indiana State Police and Spencer County Sheriff’s detectives.

The suspect was reportedly ordered to be held on Indiana charges of Attempted Murder, Aggravated Battery and Criminal Recklessness with a Firearm.

Officials also say deputies transported and booked the suspect into the Warren County Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

Officials state the juvenile’s identity will not be disclosed until authorized by the court system.
