Owensboro Symphony's 37th Concert on the Lawn brings crowd to KWC lawn on Saturday evening

The Owensboro Symphony kicked off its season with the 37th annual Concert on the Lawn, sponsored by US Bank, on Saturday evening on the front lawn of Kentucky Wesleyan College (KWC). Guests were encouraged to arrive as early at 5:30 p.m. for the event’s 7 p.m. start time with lawn chairs, picnic meals and blankets to be able to spread out and enjoy the music from classic TV shows.

“The symphony has put on shows devoted to movie music, but this is the first time showcasing all of the classic TV show music, and with my background in film and TV, I thought this selection would be perfect for this year’s Concert on the Lawn,” said Troy Quinn, the symphony’s musical director and conductor who is beginning his eighth season with the organization.
