ORLANDO, Fla. – It’s going to be another scorcher today! Afternoon temperatures are forecasted to reach near-record highs, hitting 97 degrees in Orlando. The current record stands at 98 degrees set back in 1986. With winds mainly from the south, expect increased humidity making it feel like temperatures are between 105 to 111 degrees. Officials reluctant to force couple to remove protective fence
Officials in The Villages can’t seem to find an answer as a couple in The Villages fights to keep their protective fence. Peter and Nancy Blackmore of the Village of Caroline erected the stockade fence more than a decade ago on The Villages’ eastern front. Their home backs up to Cherry Lake Road. At first, they hoped to block out noise from traffic. They added “K-9 on Duty,” signs to deter potential foot traffic from wandering in from the increasingly busy roadway. Now the massive Hammock Oaks development across Cherry Lake Road will soon be home to thousands of new Lady Lake residents.

A Florida man accused of making threats against former President Donald Trump, U.S. Sen. JD Vance and their families on social media was arrested on Friday, police said.
