    Woman charged with damaging car, driving under the influence

    An Oxford woman was arrested recently for allegedly damaging a vehicle and driving under the influence.

    According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department, at 9:21 p.m. on June 14, deputies were dispatched to 390 County Road 202 for a disturbance. When deputies arrived, the suspect, identified as Julia Bishop Allen, 24, of Oxford, had left the scene.

    Deputies located Allen’s vehicle and Allen was taken into custody and charged with DUI. During the investigation, Allen allegedly damaged a vehicle at the residence before leaving.

    She was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where she was also charged with felony malicious mischief and given a $2,500 bond.
