Four-star safety Cortez Thomas commits to Ole Miss football, Lane Kiffin in 2025 class

Ole Miss football and coach Lane Kiffin received a commitment Wednesday morning for its 2025 recruiting class.

Cortez Thomas , a four-star safety from Lexington, Mississippi, pledged to the Rebels with an Instagram post. He plays for Holmes County Central and picked Ole Miss over offers from Mississippi State, Kentucky, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia Tech and more.

The 247Sports Composite ranks Thomas 217th nationally, the No. 18 safety and the ninth-best player in Mississippi.

Thomas, listed at 6-foot, 180 pounds, made 45 tackles for Holmes County Central last season and grabbed two interceptions in 10 games. Holmes County was undefeated until it lost to West Point in the second round of the MHSAA Class 5A playoffs.

Thomas is the 10th commitment to the 2025 class. He's the second safety, joining four-star Keon Young from Lakeland, Florida.

247Sports ranks the Rebels' recruiting class at No. 62 as of Wednesday morning. Four players decommitted from Ole Miss' 2025 class last week, including Akylin Dear, the Rebels' top-rated commit.
