247Sports made a "bold prediction" for Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin this week that Rebels fans are going to hate.

Their bold prediction is that the 2024 season will be Kiffin's final one as the head coach at Ole Miss, thanks to some jobs that could potentially open after the season.

From 247Sports : The SEC should feature a couple job openings this fall, but one might not be where you expect. This is going to be a special season for Lane Kiffin in Oxford. And there's been not-so-secretive rumblings throughout the offseason that Kiffin is itching to take a bigger job — perhaps Florida, should it open — at the culmination of a playoff-bound campaign with the Rebels. He'll be one of the sport's most-wanted programs leaders if he takes Ole Miss to another top-10 finish with a roster that's built to win right now. Kiffin is a forward-thinking offensive mind and has embraced college football's new era where transfer portal additions can mean immediate success.

I know Kiffin has a reputation for always looking for the next big job, but I'm not so sure he's in a hurry to leave Oxford. He has a good thing going at Ole Miss and with the arrival of the 12-team College Football Playoff, the Rebels should be an annual championship contender.

The Florida job, specifically, is one that's been mentioned often with Kiffin. But the Gators have developed a reputation over the last decade for being short on patience. Dan Mullen won 29 games in his first three seasons in Gainesville (and he won the SEC East in 2020) before getting fired in his fourth season (2021). Not exactly a ringing endorsement for job security.

Leaving a good thing at Ole Miss for an uncertain thing at Florida could be a career killer for Kiffin.

You never say never. And if a major job like Texas, Alabama, or LSU opens again in the near future, then I'm sure Kiffin would at least have some interest. And maybe he'd even leave. But it's hard to see that happening after the 2024 season.
