Ole Miss Coach Lane Kiffin Roasts Paul Finebaum to His Face on Live TV

Paul Finebaum has spent years bashing Lane Kiffin throughout his coaching career. However, the Ole Miss Rebels head coach isn't one to shy away from criticism. On Thursday morning during the SEC Media Days, Kiffin took the opportunity to roast Finebaum to his face as payback.

Lane Kiffin sat down at the SEC Network desk alongside Paul Finebaum and things took a turn quickly . It started with the Ole Miss coach thanking Finebaum for getting him fired so he could work alongside Nick Saban. Then, Kiffin roasted Finebaum for being "wrong" about his takes over the years.

"Really, I don't know what you're good at. Like, you predicted that coach [Nick] Saban was done and that didn't happen. You basically said Miley Cyrus stinks and she's still going."

This isn't the first time these two have jabbed at each other. Earlier in July Lane Kiffin responded to Paul Finebaum claiming he doesn't find the Ole Miss head coach "funny." Additionally, Finebaum questioned whether or not Kiffin can lead the Rebels to a playoff appearance. This is what Kiffin had to say in response to Finebaum's criticism.

"Why so angry Paul? I think you’re funny . Also ⁦[Tennessee baseball] won the Natty!!! How can you be in such a bad mood??"

The truth of reality is that Ole Miss is primed for a possible playoff run this season. Lane Kiffin has done a great job in recruiting, as great at bringing in top high school recruits and developing them. But the postseason has been something Kiffin has missed out on throughout his career.

That could certainly change this upcoming season with the College Football Playoffs expanding to 12 teams. Ole Miss finished second in the SEC East last year with an 11-2 record. Only Nick Saban's Alabama Crimson Tide were ahead of the Rebels.

If Lane Kiffin can lead his team on an 11 win season, they should at least be in the mix for the playoffs. Additionally, the Rebels have a relatively favorable schedule. Ole Miss opens the season against Furman, Middle Tennessee State, Wake Forest, and Georgia Southern. The only big time games on the schedule are Georgia and LSU.

One could argue that Oklahoma, Florida, South Carolina, and Arkansas are tough matchups as well. But Lane Kiffin's team is widely expected to win those games. If they do, then the Rebels should be in a nice position late in the regular season.
