Ole Miss is officially on Dillon Alfred watch as Lane Kiffin and the Rebels will be paying close attention to the four-star wide receiver's decision date.

Alfred, who originally committed to Ole Miss this summer, re-opened his recruitment this summer a few short months after pledging to the Rebels. The 5-foot-11 and 170-pound wideout has narrowed his decision down to two schools with the Clemson Tigers making a late push to swoop in on the Ole Miss target.

The highly-touted pass catcher was supposed to announce his decision on Monday , but has since tweeted that he's still mulling things over and plans to have an answer on Friday Aug. 2.

Alfred transferred to Saraland High School in Alabama, but is a Gautier, Miss., native. As a junior in 2023, Alfred totaled 35 catches for 586 yards and six touchdowns. Even more impressive, in his sophomore season in Mississippi, the speedy wideout racked up 58 receptions for 1,310 yards and an impressive 16 touchdowns.

Alfred's production has led to On3 ranking him as the No. 59 wide receiver in the country and the 19th-ranked prospect out of Alabama.

Interestingly enough, Alfred made two visits over the last week, one to each school. However, his final stop was in Oxford for Juice Fest , so Kiffin and Co. likely had the last word with the talented wideout.

One thing is for certain: the Rebels could certainly use a boost in the 2025 cycle. Ole Miss currently stands at 28th in the nation and 12th in the SEC, per On3. Alfred's announcement could not only help the Rebels jump back into the top 25, but it could really jumpstart some momentum in recruiting as the fall draws nearer.
