Dispute at Jackson lounge moves to park, ends in shooting
JACKSON, Miss. — Jackson police are investigating an early morning shooting. Police said the incident stemmed from a Thursday night confrontation between a group of people at the Kemistry Lounge downtown. After the group was asked to leave, police said they took the dispute to Jayne Avenue Park, where shots rang out shortly before 3:30 a.m. Friday.

POLICE: 7 injured after birdshot fired into July 4 party in Ocean Springs
OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) - Ocean Springs Police arrested Henry William Andray, 68, Thursday night after he allegedly shot several people at a Fourth of July party. The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. on Cumberland Road in the Fort Bayou neighborhood. Police had to close several intersections during the investigation.
Lamar County accident Thursday claims life of Hattiesburg woman
LAMAR COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - A 25-year-old woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Lamar County Thursday afternoon. Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel said the accident happened around 3 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of Purvis-Baxterville Road when a vehicle carrying two people left the road and hit a tree.
