List: Fourth of July events in the region
There are several local cities and townships hosting parades and festivals this week in honor of Independence Day. Here are some of those events:. Oxford Parks & Recreation Freedom Festival: Salute to Freedom Parade at 6:30 p.m. July 2 starting on the corner of College Avenue and High Street in Oxford and continuing down High Street to Poplar Street. Enjoy Oxford hosts a concert at Uptown Park featuring the Bluewater Kings Bang at 7 p.m. On July 3, events at Oxford Community Park start at 5 p.m. with booths, music, food, gladiator jousts, inflatables, games, face painting and more. Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m. Details online at cityofoxford.org/_T27_R59.php.
Hamilton’s Old Hotel Gets Big Boost from Ohio Government
Hamilton’s Historic Hotel Revival: $6 Million Boost for Downtown Revitalization. Preserving the Past, Building for the Future: Marriott Tribute Hotel’s Modern Makeover. According to Bizjournals, The plan to turn an old hotel in Hamilton into a new boutique hotel just got a big boost. The government has given the project $6 million in special tax credits. This means the developer, Zeller Realty Group, can now move forward with the project and make the old hotel into a modern hotel with a mix of old and new features.
3 days of shows on RiversEdge stage: Here are the bands that will perform over Fourth of July weekend
RiversEdge, the entertainment amphitheater in Hamilton, will be the site of three free shows this week as the city celebrates Independence Day. Adam Helms, director of resident services for the City of Hamilton and producer of the concerts, said RiversEdge has always done a concert on July 4 with fireworks at 10 p.m., right after the music ends.
