WETZEL COUNTY, W.Va. (WTRF) – The Wetzel County Courthouse turned green on Thursday where Wildcats were waiting to hear more concerning the future of Paden City High School at a preliminary hearing.

This comes following last week when Wetzel County Circuit Court Judge Richard Wilson ruled that Wetzel County Schools Superintendent Cassie Porter illegally closed Paden City High School due to health concerns.

The lawsuit was filed by a group of PCHS staff led by the Paden City Schools Athletic Association group.

Attorney Teresa Toriseva was in the courtroom to prove that there is no harm to students or staff at the school and argue why it should remain open for the foreseeable future.

No decision was made tonight; however, Judge Wilson says they will discuss the information heard from the plaintiffs and ensure they will pursue a final order on Friday.

Friday, July 26th is when the restraining order expires.
