Damage found on hospital helicopter after landing in Colorado backcountry
A Flight For Life medical helicopter was left where it landed Friday near St. Mary's Glacier after damage was found on its tail rotor. A post-landing inspection by the pilot found a bent strike tab at the end of the tail rotor blade. Strike tabs are thin pieces of metal along the framework of each main and tail rotor. MCSO recover 48 pounds of fentanyl pills following a vehicle pursuit
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - On Friday, July 19th at approximately 6:20 a.m., a deputy with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling eastbound on I-70. When the deputy exited the patrol car at Mile Marker 23 to approach the stopped vehicle, the driver took off at a high rate of speed. The deputy attempted to pursue the vehicle continuing eastbound on I-70. Later in the chase Exit 26 was taken and both the deputy and the runaway vehicle headed westbound on I-70. Due to safety reasons, the deputy had to end the pursuit.
Grand Junction Lions Club to hold check presentation ceremony
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - The Grand Junction Lions Club will be presenting 1/3rd of their monetary pledges to community organizations this upcoming Tuesday. The 95th Annual Raffle and Carnival that occurred this past February, brought in enough funds for the Lions Club to share with the community. The Grand Junction Lions through their Community Betterment Committee were able to fund over $157,000 to 15 organizations in Mesa County just this year.
