Florida dad stabs 13-year-old daughter's rapist in frenzied box cutter attack after sick betrayal

A Florida father, who was arrested after stabbing a man accused of repeatedly raping his 13-year-old daughter , has stated that he has 'no regrets'. The dad rushed home from work to confront the alleged rapist, Roberto Rubio, after hearing about the horrific incident.

Although he had a box cutter with him during the confrontation, he denied intentionally stabbing Rubio .

Earlier in the day, the teenager's mother had informed the father that someone had seen their daughter running into a neighbour's house in their Greenacres-area community, away from Rubio. According to CBS 12, the teenager was hysterical and reported that Rubio had repeatedly entered her room through a window and raped her.

The incident took place in Palm Beach County, Florida . The father revealed that Rubio used to be a family friend . The girl's mother told reporters that she believes the father did the right thing.

According to sheriff's records in Palm Beach County, Rubio initially brought a red blanket into the bedroom, put a shirt over the teenager's mouth, undressed, and raped her . He also threatened to kill the teenager's parents if she didn't comply with his demands.

Rubio is facing accusations of sexually assaulting the teenager on two other occasions. By the time the girl's father was informed about the allegations and returned home, the teen and her mother had already left to seek medical advice and speak with detectives.

Family members at the scene directed the dad towards Rubio, who was hiding in his car near Casa Del Monte Mobile Home Park on 63rd Way South. Armed with a box cutter because "(Rubio) usually is armed", he went to confront Rubio.

When confronted, Rubio tried to escape but a fight broke out during which Rubio likely sustained a stab wound to the chest. The altercation ended with both men in a canal.

The dad managed to subdue Rubio and dragged him to a sheriff's deputy. With a bloodied shirt and nose, Rubio was quickly taken to a trauma centre for treatment.

After receiving medical attention, authorities questioned Rubio who denied coercing the teen into anything. He claimed to be in love with the 13-year-old and promised to take care of the teen and their family.

In Florida, the age of sexual consent is 18 and no one under the age of 16 can give consent under any circumstances, as per Florida statutes. The dad was arrested on an aggravated battery charge while Rubio was booked into the county jail on three counts of sexual assault of a minor.
