Nestor Lorant named FSL Pitcher of the Month
Two days ago Nestor Lorant earned the Florida State League’s Pitcher of the Week award for his five shutout inning performance against Jupiter. Last Thursday he allowed just one hit, didn’t walk anyone, and he had five strikeouts. At the time I wore that it may be a few days, but that given the month of June that he had he may very well be getting some more hardware. And sure enough, I’m not quite as dumb as I look. The Florida State League and Minor League Baseball announced that Lorant was the league’s Pitcher of the Month for June.
Miller Named WGCA All-American Scholar
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's golfer Annika Miller was named an all-American scholar-athlete by the Women's Golf Coaches' Association. Miller is one of 1,497 collegiate women's golfers recognized by the WGCA. To be eligible for all-American scholar status, the student-athlete must have an overall cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and play in 50 percent of the team's rounds during the season.
