Work Beginning On Canyon View Development By Lennar In Palm Springs

It’s been a long time coming with an original application submittal date of 2015, but homebuilder Lennar is beginning work on its upcoming housing development called “Canyon View,” consisting of 80 single-family homes on the southwest corner of East Palm Canyon Drive and Matthew Drive in Palm Springs.

According to city documents, Lennar’s proposed final development plans include 80 single-family residences including, “five floor plans with three different elevations. The 80 units are all two-story structures and range between 2,122 square feet to 2,761 square feet in size. Each of the homes will consist of three to four bedrooms, with four bathrooms, a living area, dining area, a kitchen, a porch or casita, and an attached two-car garage. The homes are designed with a small pool (spool) or a plunge pool in the rear yard or front courtyard areas.”

Per the city, additional key features of Canyon View will include a:

• Sculptural Cactus Garden with decomposed granite paving with shaded seating
  area.
• Community Park, Public and Private Dog Parks and Public Sculpture Park.
• Social gathering space.
• Motor courts with enhanced concrete paving.
• Shade trees along private streets as well as in the motor court areas.
• A four-foot-wide sidewalk and four-foot-wide landscape buffer on both sides of
  Canyon View Street, the main street in the subdivision.
• Rock Daisy Street, which is a secondary street, will have a sidewalk and landscape
  buffer along the west side and a partial sidewalk on the east side of the street.
• Landscape areas on both sides of the motor courts.
• Adequate room in the landscape areas for trees along the motor courts.
• Visual separation between the residences.

The preparation of Canyon View is just beginning and no website has been setup yet by Lennar. No specific timeline yet is set for the completion of this project.
