Stolen Vehicle and Handgun Recovered, Suspect Apprehended in Decatur
On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, the Community-based Connect DeKalb System captured a stolen gray Infiniti G37 involved in several entering autos incidents. Dekalb County Officers from North Central Precinct responded to 3814 Redan Road in Decatur at the Sunrise View Apartments, where the suspect noticed the officers and fled. The suspect was apprehended a short time later, and during the incident, officers located a stolen handgun taken in an entering auto robbery on July 14th.

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Clayton County Police Department is seeking public assistance to gather information regarding the homicide of 18-year-old Richard Lee Jackson Jr. Jackson was killed on Thursday, July 18, according to a CCPD release. Officers responded to the area of Warrington Place and Crystal Lake Road, where they found Jackson facedown in a patch of grass by the road. They checked on him to discover that he had been shot multiple times and was dead.
