Georgia Authorities Rescue 14-Year-Old Girl, Arrest Lilburn Man
A man from Lilburn was arrested by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office on July 3 for allegedly transporting a 14-year-old girl from North Carolina to Georgia. Marietta Woman Accused of Stealing from Home Depot
Elizabeth Annie Barbosa, 19, of Marietta, is accused of stealing $2,829 in cash from cash registers at the end of her shift as an employee of Home Depot on July 9 at 6:04 p.m. at the 449 Roberts Court location in Kennesaw, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department. Barbosa admitted to taking the cash over a two-week time period and there is video footage of the theft, according to the warrant. Barbosa is charged with theft by taking – greater than $1,500. She was arrested on July 9 at 6:33 p.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records. Barbosa was released on a $2,500 bond.

Delta organizes send-off for Team USA Olympic athletes at Atlanta airport
Delta Air Lines is celebrating members of Team USA as the athletes head off to Paris for the Summer Olympic Games. The airline organized a send-off Wednesday for archers, fencers and other U.S. athletes at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The airline had T-shirts and water bottles at the gate where archers, fencers, basketball players and other athletes were scheduled to depart. Signs read, “Good Luck Team USA!” and “A Merci Beaucoup From Us to You.” Delta is managing travel for all U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
