    (3OT) Rutherford 21, Blountstown 27

It took three overtime periods to decide the winner between two teams with dynamic offenses. The Rams overcame a 21-14 halftime deficit and tied the game late in the third quarter behind a 3-yard touchdown run from senior lineman Elijah Peace.

Both teams would fail to get into scoring range in the fourth quarter setting up the first overtime period. The scoring woes continued as the Rams and Tigers turned over the ball on each offensive possession, ending the first overtime period.

Rutherford had two opportunities to win the game in the following periods but a blocked and missed field goal left the Rams out of gas. Blountstown ran the ball on three consecutive plays and would cap off the victory with a 1-yard touchdown run from junior running back Taye Dawson.

Rutherford (0-2) travels to Chipley (1-0) on Sep. 6.
