The Hilty Staff and I are thrilled that not only were we able to stay open after the emotional announcement of our closure by MHCO in January, but we get to continue keeping our Hilty Family together while having new owners who share our passion and mission for early childhood education. Molly Schroeder and Jenna Buckland saw the need and have chosen to invest in our programming and working towards future expansion. Phase one of renovations will begin soon and will double our current capacity of 80 children, then we will begin Phase two.

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A Lima senior graduate is sharing her success with current students and wants to promote their educational success. 2016 graduate Caterrion Thompson is hosting the "Class of 2016" school supply and backpack giveaway. She and a few other of her classmates are coming together to provide more than 200 students with free school supplies. Thompson was a Lima Senior basketball standout who now plays professionally overseas and has created a foundation to give back to her hometown.

Nonprofit Lima Music Academy asks for the public's help to continue its mission
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima Music Academy is looking for the public's help in continuing its mission of empowering people of all ages with the gift of music. The nonprofit began in 2022 and gives free lessons in piano, voice, and violin to people of all ages. Research has found that learning music helps the learning process in all areas. It also helps students beyond their school years in areas like reading comprehension, memory, and problem-solving. But now the Lima Music Academy is looking for people to become regular donors to help continue and grow their program.
August 5th is final day for McDonald's school supply drive
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Time is running short to donate school supplies as part of McDonald's of Ohio's second annual school supply drive. McDonald's locations, including 12 in the Lima area, along with partners Tom Ahl Family of Dealerships and Your Hometown Stations, have boxes ready to be filled with school supplies. You can drop off your donation until August 5, 2024, here at the station (1424 Rice Avenue, Lima, OH), or Tom Ahl on Allentown Road, or any of the McDonald's locations in the region.

Lima schools to give away school supplies
LIMA — Lima schools will give away free book bags and school supplies from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 at Martin Luther King Park, 400 E. Eighth St., Lima. The school district’s annual back-to-school celebration will include a free picnic dinner, face painting, games and activities, such as basketball, kickball and cheer demonstrations from the Lima Senior cheerleaders.
