Claim to Fame just returned for Season 3, and five episodes in the strategy is moving at light speed. After the first four contestants were all eliminated by throwing wild shots in the dark, we finally got a correct guess last week, and there's blood in the water. Strategy is kicking into high gear, backstabbing is afoot and the season is getting good.

The reality show invited 11 contestants to live in a Hollywood mansion, each with an A-list celebrity relative that they must keep secret. Each week one nepo-baby gets their 'claim to fame' revealed, with whoever can keep their famous relative under wraps until the end taking home the $100,000 prize. This week a sixth relative was sent packing.

This week in Episode 5, our 6 remaining contestants competed in a blindfold challenge which provided plenty of new clues for the players. In teams of two, the contestants had to use their non-sight related senses to identify pairs of clues that could be related to one of the remaining contestant's relatives. Here's everything that happened on Episode 5 of Claim to Fame Season 3.

    Dedrick

Ever since Dedrick slipped up in the premiere and labeled himself as "Mr. Jackson," the other contestants have had a pretty good idea as to who he was related to. However, while players have been keeping Dedrick around as an easy guess, this week when he and Shane lost the challenge, he was voted to be the guesser. While the house had provided him with plenty of information regarding Danny's celebrity relative, Dedrick went rogue, incorrectly guessed that Adam was related to Owen Wilson and was sent home.

As it turns out, Dedrick is actually related to a number of famous musicians, but the "claim to fame" that landed him on the show was being Michael Jackson's nephew rather than the son of J ackie Jackson or the nephew of Janet Jackson or the other members of the Jackson 5. Dedrick, whose real name is Sigmund Jackson, had his relative revealed after he incorrectly guessed Adam's relative.

What were the clues from the blindfold challenge?

There were eight pairs of clues in the blindfold challenge. Here they are with some editorializing as to who they might belong to:

    1. Pumpkin pie & mothballs — These could be leftover clues from Miguel's relative Jamie Lee Curtis, given the pumpkin reference to the Halloween movie franchise.
    2. Cannoli & spaghetti — This would be a clue for either Adam or Shane, whose identities have not been uncovered on the show yet.
    3. Egg beater & bubble wrap — Dedrick claims this as his clue. The "bubble wrap" is a reference to Michael Jackson's Chimpanzee named "Bubbles," while the egg beater is a reference to his song "Beat It."
    4. Lightning bolt & mullet — This would be a clue for either Adam or Shane, whose identities have not been uncovered on the show yet.
    5. Manure & fried chicken — It seems likely this is Mackenzie's clue given that both horses and fried chicken are things Trace Adkins has sung about.
    6. Chili dog & melon — Hud claims this as his clue. If he's related to John Cougar Mellencamp, the melon would be a reference to his name, while the chili dog could be a reference to the line in "Jack & Diane" where Mellencamp sings, "Suckin' on a chili dog outside the Tastee Freez."
    7. Bongos & fire — Danny claims this as his clue. If he's related to Marc Anthony, the bongos would connect to his music, while the fire could be a reference to being in the movie Man on Fire .
    8. Birthday cake & pancakes — This seems to be a red herring clue left over from Naomi's relative Molly Ringwald given the Sixteen Candles and Breakfast Club references.

Who's left on Claim to Fame Season 3?

Following Episode 5, there are 5 contestants remaining on Claim to Fame . They are:

    Adam
    Danny
    Hud
    Mackenzie
    Shane

Claim to Fame airs Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
