Chevy Chase, 80, Welcomes a New Family Member

Chevy Chase is officially a grandfather!

On Wednesday, Aug. 7, Chase's daughter, Emily , took to Instagram with an exciting family update.

"💕 Ivy Jay Baglieri 💕 08.01.2024," the 35-year-old captioned her update , which featured a photo of newborn baby feet with a pink bow wrapped around them.

In the comments, Chase, 80, simply commented, "❤️❤️❤️."

Many other Instagram users reacted to the birth announcement, with one person writing, "Welcome Ivy! You have really cool parents :)Daughters are the best thing in the world! Soak in every single second💕."

Another follower commented, " Congratulations! 💗 @alex.baglieri @em_chases ."

Meanwhile, someone else shared, "Congrats on the beautiful blessing 💕."

On March 16, Chase announced via Instagram that Emily and her partner, Alex Baglieri , were expecting their first child— his first grandchild .

"I can't wait to be a Grandad!" he captioned a photo of himself and Baglieri resting their hands on Emily's baby bump. "Congrats to my daughter @em_chases and @alex.baglieri ❤️."

Emily also commented on the post, writing, "Love you, Grandad!!! 🥰."

The following day, the expecting mom shared another snap of herself and her former SNL star dad on her Instagram Story. In the shot, they touched their "bumps" together, with Chase doing so with a straight face and Emily cracking up laughing. "Touching pregnant bellies 😂," she captioned the update.

In addition to Emily, Chase and his wife, Jayni —who have been married since 1982—share two other daughters, Cydney , 41, and Caley , 39.
