Robin Williams' Daughter Zelda Calls Out 'Completely False' Viral Post About Her Late Dad

Robin Williams ' daughter, Zelda , didn't mince words when she called out a viral post about her late dad as "completely false."

On Sunday, Aug. 11, Zelda, 35, took to X (formerly Twitter) with a strong message against a report about Robin circulated online.

She re-posted an update from the X account Time Capsule Tales , which shared a photo of Robin with a tufted capuchin monkey named Crystal on his shoulder. In the post, the account claimed the animal was Robin's pet, and that the picture was the last ever taken of the beloved actor, who died by suicide in 2014 at age 63..

"It’s been brought to my attention some probably AI written BS like this is going viral," Zelda began in her scathing X post. "Dad didn’t own a pet monkey, NO ONE should, and if you’re ever tempted to, support your local exotic animal rescues instead. That is his Night at the Museum costar, who now lives at one."

In the comments, fans shared their support for Zelda on the 10th anniversary of her father's death.

"Your father was and will forever be a national treasure to us all," one wrote. "So deeply sorry you have people like that who’ll bring up your trauma for engagement and clickbait, praying for your family."

Another X user shared, "I really wish they would just leave your father alone and let you rest. You don't deserve to have the stress of having to defend his legacy. Wishing you and your family the best."

Someone else commented, "Your father was so talented. I’m sorry for your loss. Thank you for advocating on behalf of wildlife that r not meant to be pets!"

In a follow-up post , Zelda shared another warning to her late father's fans.

"And since more completely false or badly researched posts are likely to go viral on Dad’s death anniversary, maybe just assume they’re all BS (they usually are)," she advised via X. "Ignore the creepy robots trying to farm your clicks & do something nice for yourself instead. I sure as h--l will."

In addition to Zelda, Robin welcomed two sons, Zak , 41, with his first wife, Valerie Velardi , and Cody , 32, whom (along with Zelda) he welcomed with his second wife, Marsha Garces .
