Patrick Mahomes Explains Why Travis Kelce 'Gets Mad' During Chiefs Practice

What happens at Arrowhead Stadium doesn't stay at Arrowhead Stadium, at least not between the dynamic duo that is Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

During an Aug. 15 press conference , the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback shared his opinion on Kelce's behavior during training camp , praising him as a role model for the rest of the team, even if he sometimes "gets mad" during practice.

"It's remarkable, honestly. I mean, you see him out there every day at practice, he's working and he's in there getting the reps, he actually gets mad when they take him out," the 28-year-old Super Bowl champ revealed. "And he has all the right in the world to go out there and be on the sideline with the coach 'cause he knows all the stuff, and he doesn't necessarily need the rest."

The doting dad of two (and soon-to-be three ) continued, offering insight into the 34-year-old tight end's mindset and thought process as the team gears up for another season of the sport. "But he loves it, he loves it man, he loves working and it makes my job easy as a leader, to push other guys and say, 'Look at the Hall of Famer, he's out here practicing harder than anybody."

"That's what makes him so special," Mahomes added. "He enjoys the process of being great, not just the top, not winning the Super Bowl. He enjoys the process of practicing, he enjoys the process of working on little details. And that's what the great ones do. You heard stories like that about Jerry Rice and guys like that, and so I think when you're great like that, you enjoy the process of what it takes to be great. And it helps me lead other guys, cause you can always point to that guy to show that that's how it's done."
