At a time when Taylor Swift’s fans are paying hundreds of dollars—if not more—to see the megastar in concert, the ticket price listed on an old advertisement for one of her shows years ago has left many fans stunned.

A Swiftie shared a photo of the resurfaced advertisement on X , formerly Twitter, on Wednesday, August 14. The black and white listing appeared to have been printed in a newspaper or community newsletter and was tucked between listings for other events.

According to the ad, the "Fortnight" singer was scheduled to perform at a high school gym on March 31, 2007. General admission was listed at $20 and floor seating was $35. Those interested in attending were urged to get their tickets early due to limited seating availability.

A photo of a young Swift, who is now 34, was included amidst the concert’s timing and pricing details. A short message at the bottom of the ad read, “Don’t miss your chance to hear this great 16-year-old singer/songwriter!”

Some fans who commented on the post on X were amazed to see such low ticket prices for a Swift concert, even back in 2007. “GENERAL ADMISSION FOR $20???” the stunned person who posted the resurfaced ad wrote.

Many Swifties expressed their amazement at the low ticket price by sharing their own stories of seeing Swift as a teen.

“I’m from around her hometown and I remember buying a $20 Fall Fest ticket and seeing her OPEN for Luke Bryan ,” one person tweeted.

“I paid $5 in 2007 when she preformed at a local college,” one fan remembered. "She stayed and met everyone after lol. Crazzzzyyy difference.”

“First time I saw her I paid 20 dollars at a county fair! And got to meet her after ❤️,” another Swiftie shared.

One X user responded to the initial tweet with a photo of the ticket to their “first Taylor concert” July 2007, a show that featured Swift and multiple other country artists. The ticket price was listed as $25 for general admission.

Another image of a concert ticket from September 2009 indicated the X user had paid $20 for general admission.

One X user also shared an image of a poster for a February 2007 Swift concert at a university in Pennsylvania. Ticket prices for the general public ranged from $10 to $15, while students could get in at a discounted price.

Though the $20 or $35 general admission prices were low compared to the hundreds that many Swifties have spent for admittance to the “Cruel Summer” songstress’ ongoing international Eras Tour , some social media users pointed out that the costs were still “pretty high” for 2007.

“That’s expensive for 2007,” one person tweeted as another agreed, writing, “It's kinda expensive for a high school performance.”

“20$ is even a bit expensive for 2007,” another X user tweeted, adding, “Normal price was like 5$-10$ for small artists.”
