Jill Duggar Breaks Silence After Seemingly Being Snubbed From Sister Jana's Wedding Party

Former Counting On star Jana Duggar recently married Stephen Wissmann —however, her sister, Jill Duggar , was seemingly snubbed from being included in the wedding party. Jill has now broken her silence after not serving as a bridesmaid.

On Aug. 15, Jana, 34, said "I do" to Wissmann, 31, during a wedding ceremony in Prairie Grove, Ark. People shared photos from the big day , and fans saw that Jana's side of the wedding party was filled with Duggar siblings. Jessa (Duggar) Seewald was the maid of honor, while bridesmaids included Jinger (Duggar) Vuolo , Abbie (Burnett) Duggar , Joy-Anna (Duggar) Forsyth , Johannah Duggar and Jordyn Duggar .

Notably missing from the lineup was Jill Duggar , 33, the sister closest in age to Jana. And folks the r/DuggarsSnark subreddit soon pointed out how strange it was that neither Jill nor Jana's best friend , Laura DeMasie , were bridesmaids.

It didn't take long for Jill to break her silence following Jana's wedding.

On Friday, Aug. 16, Jill took to her Instagram Story to share a link to an article about Jana's nuptials. "My sister is married!!" she wrote. "Congratulations @janamduggar and @stephenwissmann. 💒💍."

Although Jill didn't publicly express hard feelings toward Jana, the timing of a different Instagram post caused some Duggar fans to raise their eyebrows. Jill's husband, Derick Dillard , announced via Instagram an edited and updated version of their memoir Counting the Cost on Friday.

"This would appear attention seeking .. let Jana have the lime light even just for one day…" one Instagram user commented.

Another follower echoed, "Can you please give Jana her moment and stop being an opportunist? I support you and Jill but this is in poor taste."

"Why wasn’t Jill in the wedding? Did Jill go?" another wondered, while someone else wrote, "How sad that Jana didn’t include her in her wedding party…Jimbo has too much influence."

As of writing, none of the Duggar family members has specifically addressed why Jill wasn't in Jana's wedding party.
