Tiny Yorkie Demands Towel So He Doesn't Touch the Cold Floor Like a True Boss

Dogs are quite demanding, and the best part is that it's literally our fault. We raise our dogs to know that, as long as they get the basics down, we won't give them a hard time about some of the annoying, yet harmless habits they seem to find out of nowhere.

A perfect example of this got posted on TikTok recently. When a Yorkie had no option other than sitting on the ground, he made sure that mom knew that it was simply unacceptable. Of course, it ended with him getting exactly what he wanted:

Zilla the Yorkie is literally famous for doing stuff like this all the time. Despite the fact that he weighs less than a personal watermelon, he still controls everyone around him at all times.

Zilla is no stranger to throwing fits to get whatever he wants, and his mom knows that very well. Just recently, he took her on a wild goose chase to find the ball he was missing. Before that, when she was pregnant, he used her bump as a launching pad. Zilla is many thing (handsome, sweet, the funniest family member, etc.), but being  "considerate of others" does not seem to be in his toolbox.

On this day, he was hanging out with mom in their garage/home gym situation, which is normal. He needs to be supervising at all times! However, something abnormal was also happening: he was losing his mind. After following him around and wondering if she's about to be the victim of a home invasion or something, though, mom discovers that he just wanted a towel. He did not want his butt to touch that cold floor!

Why do Dogs Hate the Floor?

If you have a dog, you can probably relate. When your dog wants to sit down, they find a rug, a bed, or literally anything else that keeps their bottom off the floor. Considering that wolves live in the wild and sleep on the cold, hard ground, it seems a little excessive!

Dogs hate wood/tile/vinyl floors because they're cold, but they're also hard. It can hurt their tails to sit on them on a hard floor, and it can actually cause their legs to fall asleep, just like with humans. If your dog's nails haven't been trimmed in a while, the constant clashing with the hard floor may also be painful for them.

As long as your dog isn't limping for a prolonged period after standing up or yelping when they sit down or walk on hard floors, you can just chalk it up to dogs being dogs. Most people adapt their lives around this: having at least one rug in every room can help give them somewhere to go. It might even help them stay off the furniture - though, not Zilla. That furniture all belongs to him!
