Dogs exhibit different behaviors when riding in the car. Some remain alert and excited, acting as co-pilots, while others quickly become relaxed and surrender to sleep.

Even though this good boy might sometimes help keep an eye on the road, today wasn’t one of those days. After a big day out with his mom, keeping his eyes open wasn’t an option, no matter how hard he tried.

Check out this video from July 11 to see him drifting into dreamland.

Fabio is such a perfect name for this handsome guy! This loyal and outgoing little dog gave it his all, trying to stay awake as Lexis (@ __lexiann__ ) drove them home. However, after a day of running errands here and there, the excitement wore him down, and sleep called. Lucky for him, he was inside Mom’s handbag, which was the perfect spot for a snooze. After a few head bobs, he finally relinquished control and flopped inside. LOL! It looks like a comfy spot for a tiny pup, and it makes me want to have a purse dog!

Can All Small Dogs Go in a Purse?

Even if they're small, like many Chihuahuas , not all dogs may find it pleasurable to be inside a purse or bag, especially at first. It’s the responsibility of pet parents to help them get used to the space and give them time to adjust. Teaching them to go into a handbag is similar to acclimating them to a carrier for travel . It’s essential to choose a purse that’s big enough for them to be comfortable, and it’s best to select one with a soft lining and vented sides for airflow. We should allow our pets to become familiar with the purse by using their favorite toys and treats to make it a positive place. At first, practice sessions should be short, with plenty of praise given. Once these sessions go well, we can start taking short walks around the house while continuing to offer positive feedback. If our pets are relaxed and happy, we can gradually increase their time in the bag and take them out into the world.

People understood where Fabio was coming from. Viewer @quellycz responded, “This is my purse-sized dog as soon as she gets in the car, and we haven’t even gone anywhere yet.” Ha! It can be a lot of excitement for such a tiny dog. Viewer @_sitm joked, “Spending money isn’t easy. It’s tough work. My husband doesn’t understand.” So true. Viewer @BabyGee remarked, “True definition of ride or die.” That he is!

Even though this happy boy might have needed a nap, he undoubtedly charged his batteries to spend time with his mom once they arrived home.
