Kittens grow so fast, it's hard to notice the day-to-day changes. One day, they're tiny, and before you know it, months have passed, and they look fully grown. One woman captured her Black Smoke Maine Coon kitten Casper's growth over a 6-month period, and the change in appearance is incredible!
In a recent TikTok video shared by Black Diamond MCOs (@blackdiamondmcos), we all get the gift of watching this little sweetie grow up and, well, #blessed. Take a look!
"It always amazes me how much Maine Coons change, but black smoke kittens change SO much," the caption begins. "I wasn't expecting for Casper to be so bright 'cause he was a fairly dark kitten. But that silver undercoat always grows out and amazes me."
"How much a black smoke kitten changes in 6 months," the video begins as it shows little Casper in her hands. His fur color and pattern truly do look like smoke! At 2 months old, this fluffy guy is hanging around his cat tree. He's a little older and wiser but still has a ways to go.
By the time he's 8 months, he's doubled in size! Whether he's stretching out on the floor or playing with his Guinea Pig brother, he's letting everyone know he's in charge!
We're not the only ones impressed. Casper's followers had a lot to say about his good looks.
"Ugh, I love how they look like little wizards," one person commented. "They just always look like a wiry librarian in a fantasy world I love them," another added.
At only 8 months, Casper still has a lot of growing to go. We can't wait to see how large and fluffy he gets!

How Big Do Maine Coon Cats Grow?
Like Casper, Maine Coons start off so much bigger than typical kittens. Some of it's fur, but their size alone isn't even comparable. They have longer bodies than other breeds with bigger heads and paws. As they grow and mature, PetMD says adult males, which are one of the largest domestic breeds, can weigh up to a whopping 25 pounds, and females can reach 10-14 pounds .
These fancy felines might look intimidating, but they're known to be big, giant sweethearts. Their colors and fur thickness will change a lot throughout the first year, too, while their paws are used as snowshoes that provide stability where it's slippery! As if that's not cool enough, they also have extra toes on each paw, making them "polydactyl" cats .
Casper still has a ways to go before he's fully grown, but he'll only get more adorable!
