Pets fight. There is nothing we can do about that, just like having human kids. They're going to fight, because they have no self control and because fighting is fun. If you're looking to get a parent's attention, picking a fight will get you there faster.

On Thursday, September 5th, a couple of kittens were caught on camera having their first fight. It was not the most efficient fight they could have had, but they're still learning. It's better this way:

Crinkle, Crackle, and Crunch are growing so fast! They have stopped wobbling and are walking well and even climbing the walls of the pen! #bottlebaby #fosterkittens #kittensoftiktok #bottlebabies

Pot Roast's Mom always seems to get the foster kittens with the funniest attitudes. They never disappoint!

Pot Roast's Mom has approximately one million foster cats at any given time, and she loves it. After the passing of Pot Roast, her first cat, she decided to foster as many as she could. Right now, she's on the Leaf Pile Litter, and the three cats wresting are named Crinkle, Crackle, and Crunch. They might not be fighting well, but they're showing some strong signs.

As they get older, their fights will only get more efficient, though they'll definitely pull out their "lowercase" wrestling skills to play every now and then. For now, they're still too young to be adopted and are really only just learning their strength. According to her, though, they're getting stronger every single day. They've stopped wobbling and are even walking a little more on their own. They'll be ready for forever homes in no time!

    Cats Love to Play Fight

While our pets fighting can sometimes look a little scary to us, it's often not actually serious. They can't giggle and smile and verbally tell us they're okay, so it's easy for us to mistake a play fight for a real one. There are a couple key things to look for:

    1. Crazy eyes. If your cat seems a little too into the activity, remove them.
    2. Airplane ears. Flattened ears often mean your cat is feeling threatened and unsafe.
    3. Bushy tails/arched backs. If your cat starts to back away like this, they're not playing.
    4. Biting, yelping, or limping. Real fights typically end with someone getting hurt.

If your cats are fighting for real on a regular basis, there's something going on that you're not seeing. There might be something they feel the need to resource guard, or they could be feeling stressed out or bored. Fighting will only make that worse. Make sure all cats have their own space and that there's definitely enough food and water for all of them. And if they start wrestling in lowercase, just know everything is going to be okay!
