An officer was at a local fuel station Tuesday morning in the 2600 block of Lamar Avenue when he observed Ashley Matilda Perez, 40, step from a vehicle parked next to his police unit. When Perez exited, a glass pipe, commonly used to smoke narcotics, fell to the ground. The officer approached Perez and questioned her about the pipe and narcotics possession. Perez produced methamphetamine from her clothing. They detained her for possession of narcotics. A search of Perez’s vehicle revealed more narcotics as well as scales and multiple packaging materials used for packaging illegal drugs. Officers arrested Perez for the Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance and the passenger in the vehicle for misdemeanor warrants.

Officers responded Monday to a Burglary of Residence in the 3000 block of Pride Circle. The homeowner had arrived home after an absence and found notes at the residence, cash, and a firearm. The firearm, notes, and cash were not at the home when the owner left. Police collected the evidence left at the residence, and an investigation is ongoing.

For this reporting period, officers made 19 traffic stops, arrested six adults, and answered 97 calls for service.
