PARKER, Colo. (KDVR) — A heavily advertised Parker mansion party has been canceled, and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says it will not tolerate these kinds of events.

On Tuesday night, FOX21’s sister station in Denver, FOX31, shared a story about a mansion party that was being promoted on social media by someone associated with out-of-control parties in the past. That includes a party in 2022 when the floor of a home caved in .

Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly said after seeing the story and learning more, the party will not be happening.

“We’re going to do everything that we can to keep our community safe, to keep our youth safe in this community, and it’s just not going to be tolerated,” Weekly said.

Weekly said once his agency heard about the event, they promptly reached out to the owner of the Airbnb home and said they were given false information about the party.

“We reached out to the property owners and they were misled. They were flat-out lied to,” Weekly said. “They were told this was a graduation party and that there would be 15 people there. We filled them in on the history, and so this party has been canceled.”

Weekly said he has investigators on his team looking into these kinds of parties and events to make sure they do not happen in their area.

“We have intel, we have people that are watching social media including his TikTok page, and they say there is no alcohol that’s at these parties. Looks like a bottle of alcohol to me at these parties,” Weekly said, pointing to an image from one of the events. “We’re not stupid and we’re going to do our jobs to make sure the community is safe.”

Airbnb also reached out to FOX31 about this party and released this statement:

“While rare, disruptive parties are banned on Airbnb. After we were made aware of this issue, we canceled the reservation, temporarily suspended the listing over the dates in question, and also suspended a guest account.”

While the homeowners cooperated and agreed to shut down the party and cancel the booking, Weekly said he was prepared to take things to a judge before Saturday if they did not.

The sheriff’s office plans to have deputies at the home on Saturday night.

“We will have law enforcement on the property that night to ensure that anybody that didn’t get the message that the party’s over, that the party’s over. Anybody that goes onto that property will be charged with trespassing and arrested if necessary,” Weekly said.
