KENTUCKY ( FOX 56 ) — A McCreary County man is now in jail after a deputy was injured by a clothesline during a police chase.

According to an arrest citation, Clinton Ridner, 52, of Parkers Lake, was seen Saturday afternoon on the front porch of a home by a McCreary County deputy. The deputy noted that Ridner, who had three active arrest warrants, began to run away on foot through a “big thicket” behind the home.

During the chase, the citation noted that Ridner led the deputy down a path where the deputy ran into a barbed wire clothesline positioned chest-to-neck high, damaging their neck, arms, head, and ear.

As the chase continued, the deputy said in the citation that Ridner was wrestled onto the ground and placed under arrest.
