Lumberton police officer remembered 12 years after being killed in line of duty
LUMBERTON, N.C. (WPDE) — Master Police Officer Jeremiah Goodson is being remembered 12 years after he was shot and killed as he attempted to arrest a man. Officer Goodson was off-duty when he spotted Marques Brown, who was wanted by Lumberton police, at the Express Depo/Dairy Queen on Fayetteville Road.

This announcement, made around two months ago, surprised the Cumberland County School Board, the city of Fayetteville, and the towns of Spring Lake and Hope Mills.
