Fundraiser coming up for Helping Hands Society
PA live (WBRE) — The Helping Hands Society is a non-profit organization for special needs and typical children in Luzerne, Carbon, and Schuylkill counties. The Helping Hands Society welcomes all children and never turns its back on those families that cannot afford the developmental therapies they need. Instead, the organization relies on the generosity of the public to assist in helping our community’s children succeed in life, in and out of the classroom.

Camp Smile brought a week full of joy to campers at the annual event hosted by the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley at Muhlenberg College’s Moyer Hall. Held June 24-28, the day camps provided local kids battling cancer and their siblings, along with children who have lost a sibling to cancer a chance to play games, work on arts and crafts, swim, as well as participate in theater.
