    – A new painting exhibit featuring the works of Tina Gulotta has opened at La Cosecha in Paso Robles. La Cosecha, which means “the harvest” in Spanish, is known for its farm-to-table fare, aiming to connect people through great food, drinks, and now local art.

The exhibit showcases Gulotta’s paintings, known for their central female figures juxtaposed with elements of nature in a style reminiscent of classical and surrealist painting. Two pieces from her latest series, The Datura Series, are included. This series incorporates a flower that is naturally abundant in Southern California and the Southwest and is used in Native American culture.

Gulotta, who lives on California’s Central Coast, has exhibited her work across California, including in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and the Central Coast, as well as in the Midwest and New England. Her most recent exhibit was in May at The Makery in the Little Tokyo district of downtown Los Angeles. The majority of her work is held in private collections, including one by Don Henley of The Eagles.

“Like a fine meal, art is an experience to be shared and savored. I am thankful to the owners of La Cosecha for extending their love of the region to support local growers and artists that treasure the inspiration we find here on the Central Coast,” Gulotta said.

Gulotta is also known for her statewide historic preservation efforts. She works from her home studio, an adapted agricultural grain silo that she relocated from a site off Highway 46 East when it was threatened with demolition.

Exhibits at La Cosecha change every month, and the art is available for sale. Gulotta’s work will be on display through Aug. 12.
