    Symphony of the Vines announces unique performances for new season

    – Symphony of the Vines will present its 2024-2025 season with a variety of musical performances. The season includes both Off-the-Vine and Orchestra Series concerts.

    Off-the-vine series

    • Sept. 8, 2024, 4 p.m.—Baroque Bliss at Mission San Miguel. The program features J.S. Bach’s Cantata BWV 213, Luigi Boccherini’s Cello Sonata in A major, G.F. Handel’s Rodelinda and La Resurrezione arias, and Tomaso Albinoni’s Adagio in G minor. Performers include Grace Seng (violin), Hilary Clark (cello), Jessica Hoffman (oboe), Greg Gorrindo (tenor), and Susan Davies (harpsichord).
    • Dec. 8, 2024, 3 p.m.—Brass Quintet Christmas Celebration at Hope Lutheran.
    • Feb. 16, 2025, 5:30 p.m.—Catherine Litaker and Gracie Sprout, harps, at Adelaida Vineyards.
    • March 16, 2025, 4 p.m.—Rebecca McLaflin (piano), Hilary Clark (cello), Ken Hustad (bass), and Darrell Voss (percussion) at Studios on the Park.

    Orchestra Series

    • Jan. 12, 2025, 4 p.m.—Mozart Clarinet Concerto and Beethoven Symphony No. 4 at Mission San Miguel. The program includes Mozart’s Overture to Don Giovanni, Clarinet Concerto, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4.
    • April 13, 2025, 4 p.m.—Handel’s “Messiah” (complete) at Mission San Miguel.

    Symphony of the Vines, founded by music director Dr. Greg Magie, aims to provide live classical music performances in North County San Luis Obispo. The orchestra held its first concert in 2010 and has continued to perform annually. In 2015, the Off-the-Vine series was established, featuring chamber music by local musicians and guest artists. The orchestra performs a range of music from the 1600s to contemporary works.
