National Weather Service Warns of Treacherous Heat
The National Weather Service has grim news for our region. A heat advisory is in effect until 10 p.m. local time on Sunday. The extended forecast is scarcely any cooler. "What you're looking at in the coming days - both in Wenatchee and in other locations near the Cascades - is a continuation of the very warm and dry weather," says Jonathan Fox, an NWS meteorologist. State Prepares for Big Blaze: WA Officials Mobilize Resources Across Region
If there's a big fire anytime soon in the region the state is ready. State officials are gathering resources and placing them in strategic areas in case of a big blaze. Officials from the Washington State Department of Natural Resources say they've sent equipment and firefighters to Kittitas, Yakima, and Klickitat Counties.
