Moses Lake Fire Department denies starting fire near homeless encampment
MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake Fire Department expressed its frustration with accusations that it set fire to land near homeless encampments early Monday. Shortly after midnight, fire crews responded to a fire in a field next to Fairchild Cinema. Firefighters say its an area they respond to nearly every night for various reasons, many of them fire calls. On day two of the fire, Moses Lake Fire Battalion Chief Dave Holly says a firefighter checking the area for potential hotspots was approached by people living in the camp accusing the fire department of starting the 65-acre fire. Firefighters say the fire grew to the size it did because the terrain that was difficult navigate. At one point, Holly says a Grant County Fire District 5 fire truck rolled on to its side when ground gave away under a sloped access point to the area. No one was hurt and the truck sustained minimal damage.

MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. – Foxhole Bar and Grill in Medical Lake will close its doors on Wednesday. The restaurant announced the closure via social media on Tuesday. “We can't keep it going.
